EUNICEIt is with the heaviest hearts and great sadness that the family of Mechelle Marcantel Fontenot announces her passing on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice with her loving family by her side at the age of 36. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, January 24, 2011 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Father Tom Voorhies Celebrant.

Mechelle was an Accounting Manager and loved painting as well as arts and crafts. She will be sadly missed but joyfully remembered by her devoted and loving husband of fourteen years, Jacob Paul Fontenot of Eunice her parents, Deleno and Linda Birdwell Marcantel of Eunice her son, Seth Marcantel of Eunice her step son, Cade Fontenot of Eunice her three daughters, Katelynn Marcantel, Lainey and Raegan Fontenot all of Eunice her brother, Thomas Marcantel and wife, Wendy of Woodworth her two sisters, Susan and Rachel Marcantel both of Eunice and the joy of her life, her granddaughter, Ellie Mechelle Ceasar. Also mourning her loss are many other family members and friends. Mechelle has received her wings and is now soaring above looking over her family.

At the request of the Fontenot family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday, January 23rd from 10:00am until 10:00pm and again on Monday, January 24th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Sunday evening.
