EUNICEA wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Matthew Ruppert will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Matthew died peacefully on Wednesday, December 07, 2011 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice surrounded by his loved ones. He was 89. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1:00 pm at on Friday, December 09, 2011 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier and Rev. Ernest Toepfer officiating.

Matthew proudly served his country in the United States Army and received the Purple Heart as well as being a retired farmer. Sadly missed but joyfully remembered by his wife, Edith Duplechain Ruppert of Eunice his two sons, Mark Ruppert of Lake Charles, Dave Ruppert and wife, Sylvia of Eunice his daughter, Sharon Ruppert Leonards of Eunice his stepson, Danny Thibodeaux and wife, Donna of Eunice his two stepdaughters, Merella Simar and husband, Don of Scott and Anita Butler and husband, Robert Bob of Eunice. He was blessed with nine grandchildren, Casey Leonard, Drake Leonards, Jason Ruppert, Erin Ruppert, Julie Ruppert Fruge, Joe Ruppert, Rachel Olivier, Paula Miller, and Amy Rachal and seven great grandchildren six step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, and five step great great grandchildren.

He now rest in Heaven with his first wife, mother of his children, Lucille Francois Ruppert his parents, Joseph and Josephine Brinkman Ruppert his granddaughter, Jaimee Lynn Ruppert and ten brothers and sisters.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, December 8th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Friday, December 9th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Thursday evening.
