Today we celebrate the life of Mary Gussie Miller, who departed this physical realm for the arms of her Savior on October 21, 2014. She was born to Lydia and Horace Miller, Sr., on June 6, 1922 and is preceded to her heavenly home by her 12 siblings. Such a wonderful family reunion has not been known on this earthly side.
She was a dedicated employee of the Eunice Superette Slaughter House for more than 40 years, and was honored, upon her retirement, with an award for her many years of faithful service in the meat packing department. Your shopping experience was not complete until you were taken care of by Aunt Gussie. Others will remember her by the white, 65 Ford Falcon she drove for most of her life and had been affectionately nicknamed, by some, as the Little Old Lady from Pasadena.
She is survived by two generations of nieces and nephews, which are too numerous to list here, but all of whom will remember her for the precious memories they have of good times with her.
A time of family visitation will be held for Aunt Gussie on Saturday, October 25, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Visitation for any others wishing to bid her a fond farewell will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home, 1301 W. Laurel Ave., Eunice, Louisiana, on Saturday, October 25, from 1:00 to 10:00 p.m. with a rosary being held at 6:00 p.m.
Visitation on Sunday, October 26, will begin at 8:00 a.m. with a chapel service being held at 1:00 p.m. and burial to follow in Church Point, Louisiana.
Godspeed Aunt Gussie, we will meet again Revelation 21:4.
