BASILEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Mary Landry announces her passing on Friday, November 26, 2010 at her residence. She was 86. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Brian Taylor officiating.
Mary was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She enjoyed sewing and cooking and an excellent cook she was. She leaves behind a loving and grateful family including her husband of 62 years, Edward Landry of Basile two sons, James Myron Landry and wife, Tammy Kate of Denham Springs and Merlin Landry and wife, Holy of Scott four brothers, Leit Aguillard and wife, Marie of Crowley, Eldridge Aguillard of Eunice, Gilman Aguillard and wife, Winnie of Port Barre, Lawrence Aguillard, Jr. and wife, Bobbi of Scott two sisters, Loyce Morris of Las Vegas, N.V. and Jeanette Cormier of Eunice. She was blessed with two grandchildren, Christopher J. and Joshua P. Landry. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary now rests in Heaven with her beloved parents, Lawrence and Olivia Blanchard Aguillard her brother, Homer Aguillard and her sister, Winnie Fontenot.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Friday, November 26th from 5:30 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, November 27th from 7:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Friday evening.
