Magan "Maga" Bellard

BASILE- With heavy hearts the family of Magan “Maga” Bellard announces her passing on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette at the age of 47. To honor her beautiful spirit and memory, a visitation and graveside service will both take place at the Assumption Cemetery in Basile on Monday, October 14, 2024. Visitation will be begin at 10:00am followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00am with Father Keenan Brown officiating. 

Born on December 16, 1976, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Magan was the cherished daughter of the late Roger Bellard, Sr. and Eva Mae Spriggins Bellard. Known affectionately as “Maga” to all who had the pleasure of knowing her, she touched countless lives with her warmth and kindness. Magan was not only an amazing person, a great mother and a bomb grandmother, but she was also a devoted friend to many. Her genuine nature and old soul drew people in, and her sense of humor brightened even the darkest days. Friends and family alike will remember her for her delightful cooking and the joy she brought into their lives. 

As we gather to celebrate Magan's life, we reflect on her enduring love and the fond memories she created with us all. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her especially her daughters, Coriana Young, Terriana Bellard, Tyresha Thomas, and Tisha Thomas, all of Eunice; her brothers, Fredrick Bellard and wife, Amber, and Michael Bellard, all of Basile; sister, Orelia Bellard and husband, Charles Harrell of Basile; twelve grandchildren, Ky’Lee Bellard, Nila Thomas, Kenz’Lee Ceasar, Roman Raymond, Har’Mani Washington, Royal Thomas, Jackie Thomas, Tylan Thomas, Ahmenia Thomas, Kane Cleophus, Ja’Nasia Young, and Ty’Lasia Chavis; as well as extended family and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roger Bellard, Jr., and sisters, Gretchen Bellard and Marion Bellard Joubert.
