EUNICE-It is with great sadness that the family of Lucille Ashford Johnson announces her passing on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Acadian Medical Center. A wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Lucille will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday, August 3, 2009 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Gil Dutel Celebrant.

Lucille will be lovingly remembered by her son, Paul Rodney Granger and his wife, Patricia of Lake Charles; a daughter, Mary Belinda Johnson Francois and her husband, Charles of Eunice; two brothers, Jessie L. Ashford of Eunice and Willis Ashford of Opelousas; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Dea Hebert Ashford; her husband, Gabriel C. Johnson; two sisters and two brothers.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday, August 2, 2009 from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Monday from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Sunday evening.
