EUNICE-Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, January 19, 2007 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice for Louis P. Childs, Sr,84, who passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at his residence.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice, LA.

Mr. Childs was a resident of Eunice as well as an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army Air Corp. during World War II. Mr. Childs retired with Ashy Construction as an oilfield supervisor where he worked for many years.

Survivors include his two sons; Harry N. Childs of Eunice and Louis P. Childs, Jr. and his wife Pamela of Opelousas; one brother, George Childs of Baton Rouge; two sisters; five grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Marie Champagne Childs; daughter, Peggy Ann McGee.
The family request that visitation hours be observed from 2 pm until 9pm Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice and again on Friday, January 19, 2007 8am until time of services with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 pm Thursday evening.
