BASILE-Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at the Methodist Church in Basile for Mr. Louis L.B. Childs, 85, who died Sunday, October 22, 2006, at the Basile Care Center.

Interment will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery in Basile with Rev. Morgan officiating.

Mr. Childs was a resident of Basile. He was a Veteran of The United States Army serving in the European Theatre during World War II participating in the invasion of Normandy.

Survivors includes a two sisters, Geneva Braswell of ARK., Johnie Jordan and husband, Donald of NY; numerous nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law Chester Ortego and wife, Lenora of Basile.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eltra Childs; parents, Eric and Emidean Bertrand Childs; two brothers, Arthur Sonny Childs, Oren Chili Childs; one sister, Dorothy Joyce.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, October 24, 2006, from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, from 8:00 am until time of services.
