EUNICE-Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, October 06, 2006 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Eunice, for Mrs. Lorena D.Boone, age 83. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Thomas Voorhies officiating.

Mrs. Boone, a resident of Eunice, died at Acadian Medical Center on October 04, 2006. Mrs. Boone was a retired seamstress at Aguillards Cleaners and Ardoins Department Store and at her home. She was a member of the Duralde Ladies Alter Society and was known for her great cooking and her famous banana cakes.

Survivors include her two sons, Ralland Boone Sr. and wife, Barbara of Butte La Rose, Charles F. Boone of Gaonzales; three daughters, Myrtle Meaux of Houston, TX, Diana Belfore and husband, Leander of Eunice, Patricia Smith and husband, Dwayne of Basile; two brothers, Chris Duplechain of Lafayette and L.J. Duplechain of OpelousasEunice; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alexson Boone; parents, Francois and Corais Rozas Duplechain and a grandson Owen Smith.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, October 05, 2006, at 5:30 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Friday, October 06, 2006 from 8:00 am until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Thursday evening.
