EUNICE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 12 noon Monday, February 16, 2009 at St. Thomas Chapel in Savoy, La, for Linton Toby Rougeau, Sr., 89, who passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at the Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Dan Edwards Celebrant.
Mr. Rougeau was a very humble man who enjoyed fishing and agriculture. For almost his whole life he worked as a farmer with crops such as rice and beans. He was a member of the Woodman of the World and the Tri-Parish Rice Dryer.
A loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather, Linton is survived by his three sons, Linton Sonny Rougeau, Jr. and his wife, Jenny of Eunice; Michael Rougeau and his wife, Cathie of Eunice, and Ronald Rougeau and his wife, Karin of Krotz Springs; his three daughters, Judy R. Young and her husband, Clarence of St. Martinville, Dolores R. Frey of Eunice; Pam R. Bollich and her husband, Mark of Eunice; twenty six grandchildren; forty six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchildren. Linton will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Jannise Rougeau; a granddaughter, Veronica David; his parents Willie and Doline Brown Rougeau, and a brother, Alvin Rougeau.
The family request that visiting hours be observed on Sunday, February 15, 2009 from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Monday, February 16, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Sunday.
