IOTA It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of there beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend, Leverna Vern Cart, on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 85. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota. Entombment will follow in the St. Joseph Mausoleum with Father Mikel Polson Celebrant.

Leverna better known as Vern to all who knew her was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Glenn Cart and wife, Liz of Iota, Terry Cart and companion, Flo of Sulphur her three daughters, Toni Trahan and husband, Richard, Martha Smith and husband, Donald, and Lisa LeJeune and husband, Kevin W. all of Iota. She is also mourned by her twelve grandchildren whom she was very proud, Vince Trahan, Steve Trahan, Paula Brown, Kerrie Miller, Donnie Cart, Paula Cart, Nicole Smith, Julie Dupuis, Anthony Cart, Kelsey Cart, Jenna Zaunbrecher and Lauren LeJeune her eighteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren who were a great source of joy.

Now she rests in Heaven with her beloved husband of 48 years, Hugh Cart her parents, Amos and Euna Bertrand Ortego and her grandson, Cohen Zaunbrecher.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Iota on Monday, August 16th from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, August 17th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Monday evening.
