BASILEIt is with heavy hearts that the family of Leatrice Douget Fruge announces her passing on Saturday, September 15, 2012. She was 85. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery with Father David Hebert Celebrant.

Leatrice was a life long resident of the Basile community and was also a very active member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church, but most of all she was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will forever be loved and missed by her two sons, Chester Fruge, Jr. of Baton Rouge and James Kent Fruge of Basile two grandsons, Michael and Scott Fruge and great granddaughter, Olivia Fruge.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chester Fruge parents, Savan and Mildred Moreau Douget and brother, Colonel Charles Douget.

At the request of the family no visitation will be held.

The family extends appreciation to Dr. Zeb Stearns, the staff of Heart of Hospice of Lafayette and all of the many friends who supported her during her life and final days. Chester Jr. extends his appreciation to his brother Kent for his devotion and loving care of their Mother.
