BASILE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 12 noon at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile for Lawrence Fruge, Jr., 71,who passed away at the Lady of the Sea General Hospital in Galliano. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum in Basile with The Reverend Fr. Bill Rogalla Celebrant.
Lawrence Fruge, Jr was retired from the United States Air Force and went to be with the Lord on September 27, 2007 after a valiant fight with his health. In addition he retired from Tenneco-Chevron, and Grande Island Shipyard. He attended Basile High School in Basile, LA.
Lawrence Jr. was born to Lawrence Sr. and Theresa Langley Fruge on March 18, 1936 in Basile. He is survived by his brothers, Floyd J. Fruge and wife, Joyce LeBouef Fruge of Rayne, Herman J. Fruge and wife, Lucille Lammers Fruge of Corpus Christi, TX, Shirley J. Fruge and wife, Karen Miller Fruge of Niceville, FL, Melvin J. Fruge and wife, Nancy Richard Fruge of Ocala, FL; sisters, Pearl M. Fruge Weisse of Basile, Mary Stella Fruge Webb, and husband, Charles V of Ballinger, TX, Juanita J. Fruge Mizell and husband, Edward of Folsom; and innumerable nieces, nephews, cousins and a lifetime friend, Glenn A. Bousegard of Galliano, LA and his mother, Lucy Bousegard.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Zula Fruge Hester and her husband, C.L. Chunkie Hester; sister-in-law, Cheryl Harper Fruge; brother-in-law Nicholas Weisse.
The family request visiting hours be observed at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Saturday, September 29, 2007 from 7:00 am until time of services at noon.
Lawrence touched so many lives and will be missed by all. Special thanks go out to Glenn Bousegard and Mrs. Lucy Bousegard who have been there for his daily care and needs these last few months.
