BASILE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, April 04, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile for Kermick Johnson, 66, who passed away on Thursday, April 02, 2009 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery with Father Brian Taylor officiating.
Kermick, a resident of Basile, was a veteran of The United States Army. In his spare time, he enjoyed training beagles and was also the founder of the Beagle Ranch Bloodline.
He leaves behind a legacy of family and friends who loved and will miss him. Kermick is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela S. Johnson of Basile; his parents, Wilda and Louis LeJeune of Basile; three sons, Tony Johnson and wife, Becky of Elton, Otis Johnson and wife, Kayla of Eunice, and Justin LeBleu and fiance, Kelly Sheperd of Basile; one daughter, Rachel Fontenot and husband, Randy of Basile; four brothers, Dolan Fontenot of Basile, Robert Johnson of Lake Charles, Kenneth Johnson of Basile, and Carol Johnson of New Iberia; three sisters, Theresa Pitre of Basile, Jackie Martin of Baton Rouge, and Dianna Griggs of Lake Charles; thirteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margey Johnson; his father, Ano Johnson; a brother, Ronnie LeJeune; and a grandson, Casey Joe Johnson.
The family request that visiting hours be observed on Friday, April 3, 2009 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile from 10:00 am until Services on Saturday. A Rosary will be recited at 7:15 pm Friday evening.
