EUNICE-Funeral services will be held at 2:00 am Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice for Mr. Kenneth Ken Young, 58, a native of Eunice, who passed away Saturday, January 27, 2007 at his residence.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice with The Reverend Ron Burkhalter officiating.

While attending Eunice High School, Mr. Young received All State Basketball First Team Honors for two years where he led the state in scoring during his senior year maintaining a 32.4 point per game average. He later played Varsity Basketball for Nicholls State University where he received his undergraduate Degree. Mr. Young went on to receive a Masters Degree from Louisiana State University and was currently teaching at Acadian Middle School in Lafayette.

Survivors include his father Burleigh Young of Eunice; two sons, Morgan J. Young of Lafayette, David B. Young of Lafayette; one daughter, Dr. Emily Young Ibert and husband, Anthony of New Orleans; two sisters, Janet Lavergne and husband, Charles of Eunice, Nancy Devillier and husband, Leroy of Eunice; one niece and three nephews.

Preceded in death by his son, Haas Elliot Young; his mother, Nettie Joy Young.
The family request that visitation hours be observed from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2007 and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until time of services Tuesday.
