Kenneth Glenn Fontenot

Kenneth Glenn Fontenot of Duralde, a dedicated horseshoer and horse trainer, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in Opelousas, Louisiana, at the age of 73. Born on Friday, November 16, 1951, Kenneth enjoyed living a quiet life that was rich in purpose, dedicating himself to his craft and his passion for animals.

Throughout his career, Kenneth was known for his exceptional skills in working with horses, a vocation that allowed him to forge deep connections with both the animals he loved and the people he interacted with. He had a love for trading, as he enjoyed engaging with others in the community.

Kenneth will be fondly remembered for the serene life he led, embraced by the simple joys found in nature and the company of his beloved animals. His warm heart and gentle spirit made him a cherished figure among friends and family alike.

Kenneth is survived by his father, Jimmie Fontenot; his two sons, Clint Wayne Fontenot of Lafayette and Kelly Paul Hollier of Tacoma, Washington; and his three brothers, Phillip Fontenot (Phillis) of Church Point, Patrick Fontenot of Lafayette, and Danny Fontenot of Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jane Fontenot, and his brother, Richard Fontenot.
