EUNICE Julia Judy Smith, who was 73, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Heart Hospital in Lafayette with loving family by her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 01, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Msgr. Robert Romero Celebrant.

Julia, or Judy as she was called by family and friends was the owner and operator of Pelican Restaurant. She loved planting flowers, shopping and especially time spent with her beloved family. Judy was a devoted wife to Jimmy A. Smith of Eunice a wonderful daughter to Hazel V. Johnson of Eunice an amazing mother to Monica West and husband, Joseph of Eunice and Debra Stanford of Lafayette a loving sister to Joseph Ray, BiBi Arnaud and Donald Brother Arnaud both of Eunice an adoring grandmother to eight grandchildren, Kevin Richard, Craig Bourque, Ashley and Kelsey Soileau, Alec Stanford, Brittany, Brooke, and Hunter Fontenot four step grandchildren, Erica, Devan, Garrett and Angel West five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Katrina V. Bourque her father, Joseph Red Arnaud a grandson, Derek Thibodeaux three sisters, Geraldine Langley, Pat CoCo and Jeanette Daigle her step father, Phil Johnson.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, October 31st from 8:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, November 1st from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Friday evening.
