EUNICEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of J. R. Deshotel announces his passing on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at St. Patricks Hospital in Lake Charles at the age of 77. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, September 26, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Dustin Dought Celebrant.

J.R. was a retired General Manager from Perry Pitre Ford. He served his country proudly in the United States National Guard. He loved to fish, hunt, cut his grass and BBQ. But most of all he was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be missed by everyone who knew him especially his wife, Dean Deshotel of Eunice his four children, Kyle Deshotel and wife, Paula, Nicole Bergeron and husband, James Junior, and Jay Deshotel all of Eunice, and Jude Deshotel of Kinder a brother, Reven Deshotel of Opelousas seven grandchildren, Kylie Jo Doucet, Dr. Kaleb Deshotel, Kourt Deshotel, Alec Deshotel, Skye Bergeron, Ansley Deshotel and Cole Bergeron three great grandchildren, Kameron, Katelyn and Wyatt.

He is preceded in death by his son, Chad Deshotel parents, Lindey and Virgie Foret Deshotel and a brother, Clyde Deshotel.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, September 25th from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Friday, September 26th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 6:30 pm Thursday evening.
