BASILEIt is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Joyce Mae Twozin announces her passing on Friday, October 29, 2010 at her home. She was 83. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 03, 2010 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Brian Taylor, Celebrant.

Joyce was known and will always be remembered for her baking, quilting, and service to her church. She was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church Ladies Alter Society, as well as a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary and the Prayers and Patches Quilting Group. She baked for benefits and church activities, and won the Basiles Best Baker of 2000 award. A loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, Joyce was very much loved by her four daughters, Glenda Trahan, and Trena Wendt and husband, Wally, all of Basile, Charlene White and husband, Ray of Hornbeck, Angela Reed and husband, Kenneth of Lanse Meg brother, Phillip Doga of Bayou Vista eleven grandchildren, Greg Manuel and wife, Marla of Basile, Vicky Broussard and husband, Marty of Moss Bluff, Brentley Manuel, Chad Manuel, Francine Butts and husband, Dempsey, all of Basile, Christina Peterson and husband, Cannon of Rothchild, WI, Raye Anne Duplechain and husband, Mike of Magnolia, TX, Renee900 Roberie and husband, Lance of Mandeville, Robin Connell and husband, Seth of Maumelle, AR, Patricia Reed of Mamou, and Heather Reed of Eunice thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She now rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, Paul Twozin parents, Nickel Doga and Ella Fruge Hunt two sisters, Hazel Granger and Ethel Bertrand grandson, Neal Manuel great grandson, Danial Broussard and three soninlaws, Larry Manuel, L.D. Trahan, and Francis Manuel.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Tuesday, November 2nd from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Wednesday, November 3rd from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening by the Ladies Alter Society.
