IOTAA wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Josephine Ronkartz Burton will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Josephine died peacefully on Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Stonebridge Place in Sulphur surrounded by her loved ones. She was 89. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata. Entombment will follow in the St. Lawrence Mausoleum with Father Gil Dutel Celebrant.

She leaves behind a loving and grateful family including her seven sons, Charles Burton and wife, Stephanie, Thomas Burton and wife, Judy all of Sulphur, Wayne Burton and wife, Sandra of Duson, Carl Burton and wife, Keta of Iowa, James Burton and wife, Judy of Pineville, Dale Burton and wife, Sheila of Florida, Danny Burton and wife, Vanessa of Monroe two daughters, Deborah Longenbaugh and husband, Steve of Sulphur, Josette Pruett of Slidell a brother, Jerome Ronkartz and wife, JoAnn of Mowata two sisters, Louise Troyanowski of Lafayette, Jeanette Robinson of Mowata two sistersinlaw Effie Ronkartz of St. Amant, Hubertina Burton of Iota twenty one grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also mourning her loss are numerous nephews and nieces.

Now she rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, Joseph Burton her parents, Lambert and Regina Dischler Ronkartz granddaughter, Ashley two great granddaughters, Livvie and Mikayla daughter in law, Donita Burton and a son in law Charles Pruett.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Iota on Wednesday, June 16th from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm. On Thursday, June 17th visitation will begin at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata from 9:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Wednesday evening.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Stonebridge, Southern Care Hospice and Dr. Jody George.
