EUNICEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Joseph Curney Sattler announces his passing on Thursday, May 31, 2012 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was 85. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 02, 2012 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrant.

Joseph served his country honorably in the United States Army and United States Navy having served in World War II. Following his military service he was a lifetime member and very active in the VFW where he was an instrumental in building the first Eunice VFW home. He started numerous businesses in Eunice and for over 50 years he was the owneroperator of Sattler Supply. He was an avid camper, hunter and fisherman but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Irene B. Sattler of Eunice his three sons, Randall James Sattler and wife, Betty, Robert Glenn Sattler and wife, Cherie, Peter Brent Sattler and wife, Annette all of Eunice his three sisters, Madeline Gardiner of Crowley, Norma Brinkman of Church Point and Elaine Moseley of Eunice. He was blessed with five grandchildren, Brandon, Brady, Susan, Sarah and Andre Sattler and further blessed with four great grandchildren, Mason, Drake, John Christopher and Eva Grace Sattler. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He now rests in Heaven with his beloved son, Jeffery Paul Sattler his parents, Joseph and Odile Guidry Sattler his grandson, Adam Sattler and his sisters, Cora Lee Sattler, Joyce Sattler, Marjorie Cormier, Bonnie Manuel, and Harriet Blanchard.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, June 1st from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, June 2nd from 8:00 am until time of services. Father Cedric Sonnier will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Friday evening.
