EUNICE-A Celebration of Life will be Celebrated at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 10:30 am for Joseph Lee Newman Sr, 89 years young. Rite of Committal will follow in the Reed Cemetery in Lanse Meg with Father Tom Voorhies officiating.

Our dad went to meet Our Heavenly Father and be with mom again on Friday, May 18, 2009 at 3:00 pm. He died At Carpenter House Hospice Hospital in Baton Rouge. He was a retired welder of OMI and a member of the W.O.W.

Dad leaves three children behind to remember him, Rose Courville and her husband, Allen of Eunice, Peggy Ardoin and her husband, Robert Wayne of Livingston, and his son, Joe Newman and his wife, Debbie of Erath; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and twenty three great great grandchildren.

Lee was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 and years, Loreina Manuel Newman, his dad and mom Christoval and Martha Soileau who raised him after his birth mother passed away giving birth to him.

Pallbearers will be his son-in-law, Wayne Ardoin and five grandsons, C.J. Courville, Chad Courville, Casey Courville, Jason Ardoin, Chad Porche and Isaac Newman.

The family request that visiting hours be observed at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 from 10:00 am until 10:00pm and again on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Wednesday evening.

Lee loved life and never met a stranger. Dad you worked hard all your life, its time for you to rest now. We will love you and mom always. We will all be together again one day.
