EUNICEIt is with heavy hearts that the family of Joseph Lee Burke Fontenot, Sr. announces his passing on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette surrounded by his loved ones. He was 79. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, January 25, 2013 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Travis Turner officiating.

A proud veteran, Joseph served in the United States Army. He worked in the oilfield but most of all he loved the outdoors, yard work, woodwork, and playing with his grandchildren. Joseph was married to Louetta Guillory Fontenot for 58 beautiful years and they were the proud parents of five children, Ellen Lane Fontenot, Judy Brown and husband, Richard, Burke Fontenot, Jr. and wife, Patsy, Charlene Fontenot, and Deborah Fontenot Darbonne all of Eunice two sisters, Emily Odom and Madeline Fontenot both of Ville Platte. He was a wonderful and loving grandfather to eleven grandchildren, Teri, Jamie, Lillian, Andrew, Lindsy, Jason, Kelly, Jessica, Matthew, Amy and JonEric and sixteen great grandchildren, Dillan, Trent, Kory, A.V., D.J., Adrianna, Liben, Ellie, Tanzy, DanielSeth, Rowe, Samantha, James, Savannah, Connor, and Lila. He will forever be loved and missed by everyone whose hearts he touched.

He now rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Lindsey and Amy Deville Fontenot.

At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, January 24th from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Friday, January 25th from 8:00 am until time of services.
