BASILE-It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Velius Courville, 91 announces his passing on Monday, April 20, 2009 at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou after a long and successful life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Brian Taylor Celebrant.
Mr. Courville known as Tee Bay to all who knew him was a native of Basile and the founder and former owner of Tee Bays Bar-b-que Sauce and Tee Bays Smoked Sausage. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. He will be forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be truly missed.
He will be remembered as a kind, generous, and loving, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, he is survived by his one son, Nolan Courville of Lafayette; his one daughter, Tess C. LeBouef of Eunice; his brother, Johnny L. Courville of Lake Charles; his five loving grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Janise Courville; his parents, Alex and Mea Fruge Courville.
The family request that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening.
