EUNICEWith much sorrow, the family announces the passing of Johnny B. Berzas who peacefully passed away on his 76th year with family by his side at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice, on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 02, 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 05, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the New St. Ann Mausoleum in Mamou with Father Tom Voorhies Celebrant.

Johnny was a rice farmer as well as a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Duralde and a member of the Farm Bureau Board in Evangeline Parish for many years. He was a true outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and camp. Johnny had a great sense of humor and was a very generous man who loved spending time with his sons and family. But most importantly, he was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He had 57 loving years with his wife, Dolores F. Berzas of Duralde. He was a loving father to three sons, Philip Berzas and wife, Polly of Lanse Meg, Paul Berzas and wife, Tanya of Duralde, and Peter Berzas and wife, Regina of Savoy his daughterinlaw, Pam Berzas of Duralde and his brother, Rayford Berzas and wife, Wanda of Duralde. He was blessed with fifteen grandchildren, Brandon, Lucas, Garrett, Kathleen, Ryan, Abby, Amy Grace, Juston, John Patrick, Zo, Christopher, Matthew, Pierre, Anne, and Cora and further blessed with ten greatgrandchildren, Cameron, Chlo, Camille, Carson, Daisy, Scott, Kaye, Macie, Londyn, and Cooper. Johnny will be loved and remembered in our hearts forever.

Now he rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Pierre and Zella Hebert Berzas his infant sister his son, Scott Berzas and his great granddaughter, Marianne Alisha Berzas.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, March 4th from 9:30 am until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, March 5th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Jim Cormier will recite a Rosary at 6:30 pm Friday evening.
