Johnette "Grandma" Lavergne

EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Johnette “Grandma” Lavergne announces the loss of their loving mother, grandmother, and friend, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at the age of 73. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1:30pm on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Deacon Gary Gaudin, officiating.

      Johnette, known as “Grandma” by her grandchildren, enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved watching her grandson, Brody, race dirt bikes and especially enjoyed shopping with her granddaughter, Allison. Johnette will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her, especially her children, Wayne Michael Lavergne II of Swords and Barbara Mack of Eunice; nephew, Heath Devillier of Opelousas; grandchildren, Allison Lavergne and fiancé, Nicholas Soto of San Francisco, CA, and Brody Mack of Eunice; brothers-in-law, Terrel “Murph” Lavergne and wife, Keri of Swords, Dale Lavergne and wife, Geraldine of Swords, Donvan “Donnie” Lavergne of Lafayette, Kent Lavergne and wife, Brenda of Swords, and Ricky Lavergne and wife, Mary of Swords; sisters-in-law, Brenda Mistrot and husband, Pierre of 3 Mile Lake and Charlotte Chapman and husband, Terry of Swords; as well as extended family and friends.

       She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne “Pop” Lavergne; daughter, Dawn Lavergne Blanchard; parents, Harmon and Barbara Moncrief Orren; and father and mother-in-law, William and Thelma Lavergne.

      At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, September 29th from 9:00 am until time of services.
