BASILE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile for John Addison Johnson, 77, who passed away on Monday, October 13, 2008 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Brian Taylor officiating.

Addison was a resident of Basile and a retired school bus driver and a farmer. His children, family and friends were his life. Those of us, who have been blessed to have known him, loved him, laughed with him and cried with him will cherish every moment of every day of every year that God has allowed us to share with him. Addison is survived by his three sons, Raphael Johnson and wife, Becky of Basile, Gary Johnson and his wife, Terry of Eunice, Michael Johnson and his wife, Charlene of Iota; two daughters, Glenda Sonnier and husband, Julius of Sulphur, and Raedonna Johnson and husband, Michael of Eunice; one brother, Justin Ray Johnson of Beaumont; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded death by his wife, Dorothy Thibodeaux Johnson, and his parents, Odes and Eda Douget Johnson.

The family request that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Robbie Leger will recite a rosary at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening.
