John F Cobb, Jr. "Butch", age 76 passed away on August 23, 2015. Butch was born on February 27, 1939 in Eunice Louisiana to parents John Frank Cobb and Pearl Siggio.
Butch touched the lives of many people. His warm heart was always open to those in need. At a young age when his father passed away he began helping his mother in their home salon. Pearl's salon was the beginning of a long passion for cosmetology.
Butch met the love of his life Diane Miller and was married on January 26, 1963 and they started their life together. Butch worked long hours while his wife stayed home to help raise their four children and when the youngest child started school, Diane began her career in cosmetology and joined him in the Salon. Together they worked side by side for over 20 years. The partnership they built laid the foundation to the very successful beauty salon and beauty academy that is still operating today.
Aside from being a self-made business man, Butch also dedicated much of his time to the community. Butch was very active in the Eunice Players Theater. His involvement included acting, directing, hair and make-up and later held the position as President of the Eunice Players Theater. Butch made time for many other organizations. He taught Pre-Cana classes at St. Anthony and was on the church council. Butch was a Boy Scout Troop Leader who motivated his son to become an Eagle Scout.
Butch was dedicated and passionate for the cosmetology industry by serving as President of the School Owners association of Louisiana and organized a Convention in New Orleans Louisiana as well as owning his own beauty salon and beauty academy.
Butch enjoyed parties with his friends, dancing with his wife, and camping with his family. Gardening later became he and Diane's passion. They passed many evenings sitting on his patio telling everyone the names of the flowers and plants in his yard. Butch loved life and was always laughing, but when those eyes got big and his eye brow rose up….no words necessary.
Butch will be greatly missed by all of his family and his countless friends.
