John James "Jimmy" Angelle

EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John James “Jimmy” Angelle on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at his home in Katy, TX surrounded by his family. He recently celebrated his 80th birthday; born September 3, 1944, in Cecilia, LA to Audubert Angelle and Elise Lavergne Angelle. 

 He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Audrey Stelly Angelle; his sons, Trent Angelle and his wife, Kathy, Kyle Angelle and his wife, Laura, and his daughter, Kimberly Angelle Smalligan and her husband, Rodney; his sister, Earline Angelle Latiolais and husband, Francis. He is also survived by grandchildren, Shea Angelle Coniglio and husband, Tony, Alex Boone and wife, Baily, Cole Angelle and girlfriend, Brittany Flanel, Matthew Boone and wife, Emily, Conner Angelle, Addison Angelle, Payton Angelle, Brooke Garrison Bandy and husband, James, Reid Smalligan, and Riley Smalligan; and great grandchildren, Blakely Boone, Stoney Boone, Ellis Bandy, and Briar Boone.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bobby Angelle and Berton Angelle; sister, Beverly Angelle Latiolais; and his son-in-law, Etienne Boone. 

 Jimmy’s family and friends were very important to him. He loved family gatherings and cooking for his family; especially, making his famous marinated pork and corn maque choux. He loved cars; especially clean cars and was known to clean his vehicles daily. He loved traveling and cruising. He loved going to car shows, and he loved to shop, especially for jewelry. He was a huge LSU, Saints and Astros fan.

 Jimmy was self-employed for 30 years as co-owner of LAS Fire and Safety with his best friend, Eugene Lanclos. He also previously owned Crispy Cajun Fried Chicken in Eunice and Krispy Cajun Chicken in Jeanerette. 

 At the request of his family, visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home, 1301 W Laurel Avenue, Eunice, LA, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and again on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will pray a Rosary Friday at 6:00 pm.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 301 W. Vine. Ave., Eunice, LA, starting at 11:00 am followed by interment at St. Paul Mausoleum with Father Hampton Davis as Celebrant.

 A celebration of life will be held in Katy, TX at the Fellowship Church located at 22765 Westheimer Parkway from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 14th, 2024. 

 In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jimmy’s memory to St. Edmund Catholic School at https://stedmund.com/online-donations.
