EUNICEWith much sorrow, the children announces the passing of their beloved mother, Joanne Theresa Bradley McGee in her 79th year with family by her side at Eunice Manor Nursing Home on the morning of Thursday, October 18, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 20, 2012. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Msgr. Robert Romero Celebrant.
Joanne was retired from St. Eds Catholic School after teaching the 5th grade for 28 years as well as being in charge of music, art and all school functions. Before retirement she enjoyed traveling with fellow teachers The Good Guys. After retirement she became a Lay Carmelite. Joanne loved gardening, sewing, quilting, painting, reading and attending mass. Above all she was a beloved mother, a sister, and a grandmother who adored spending time with her family. Precious memories of her will remain forever in the hearts of her eight children, four sons, Shawn Bradley McGee and wife, Pamela of Ville Platte, David McGee of Jennings, James C. McGee and wife, Kaye of Eunice and Robert M. McGee and wife, Casey of Praireville four daughters, Ann Miller and husband, Jude of Eunice, Frances Prather and husband, Kenneth, Eileen Young and husband, Joseph, all of Lafayette, and Lisa Menard and husband, Lloyd of Eunice brother, Raymond Earl Buzz Bradley, II of Lake Charles three sisters, Shirley Bordelon and husband, Jean of Metairie, Yvonne Richard and husband, Leopold of Lafayette and Catherine Rougeau and husband, Michael of Eunice. She was blessed with twenty eight grandchildren and further blessed with fourteen great grandchildren. Also mourning her loss are nieces, nephews and friends.
She now rests in Heaven with the love of her life her husband of 56 years of marriage, Terrence Terry Luke McGee two daughters, Susan Claire Dearing and Mary Elizabeth Beth Stelly her parents, Raymond Earl and Wilma Genevieve Keller Bradley.
At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, October 19th from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, October 20th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Friday evening.
