EUNICE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 11:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church for Mr. Jessie Clarence Long, 76, who passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at his residence. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Thomas More Cemetery in Eunice with Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrant.

Mr. Long was a retired Veteran of the United States Navy; he served in the Vietnam War and Korean War. He was a member to the V.F.W. Post 8971 and also a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Thomas More and an active member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

A Loving Father, Brother, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, Mr. Long is survived by his son, Jessie C. Long, Jr. of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Dolores McGee and companion Matthew Merritt of Lafayette, Jackie Manuel and husband, Craig of Eunice; two sisters, Edna L. Miller of Crowley, Ida Guidry of Eunice; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

His parents, Thomas and Amelia Miller Long, precede him in death; his wife, Thelma Tut Long.
The family request that visiting hours be observed at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, December 17, 2007 from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, December 18,2007 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Monday evening.
