EUNICEIt is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Jessie Lee Ashford, on September 01, 2011 at The Heritage Manor in Opelousas with his family by his side. He was 74. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Saturday, September 03, 2011 at 4:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Gregory Gaspard officiating.
Jessie will be remembered for the great inspiration he had for his family and all who knew him. He enjoyed life and his happiest times were spent fishing, cooking and joking but what he loved and lived for was spending time with his loving family especially his grandchildren. Jessie will forever be loved and missed by everyone whose hearts he touched especially his previous spouse, Elta Boone of Eunice his three sons, Mitchell Lee Ashford and wife, Belinda of Turkey Creek, Ronald Anthony Ashford and wife, Tammy of Eunice, Kevin Vince Ashford and wife, Tiffany of Mamou his four daughters, Jessica Lynn Castille and husband, Richard, Myra Sue Street and husband, Steve all of Eunice, Sarah Louise Ashford and husband, Harold Fall of Mamou, Shanet Con Prochaska and husband, Nelson of Washington his brother, Willis Ashford of Opelousas his twenty five grandchildren, Brad Castille, Ashley Duplichan, Justin Castille, Mitchell Ashford, Jr., Vondale, Idea, Trisha, Brandon, Ronald James, and Ryan Seth Ashford, Natasha Fontenot, Aaron Anthony Daigle, Cristy Fontenot, Stephanie, Steven, and Brant Street, Jared Paul and Katie Brooke Vidrine, Justin David Prochaska, Hunter, Kaitlynn, Holden, Hudson, Thomas, and Jessilynn Ashford and his twenty four great great grandchildren.
He now rests in Heaven with his parents, Thomas and Dea Hebert Ashford his brothers, Batiste and Morris Ashford his sisters, Maurice Courville, Lucille Johnson and Admos Fruge his grandchildren, Trisha Ann Ashford and Richard John Castille.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, September 2nd from 3:00 pm until time of services on Saturday. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Friday evening.
