BASILE-With heavy hearts the family of Jerry Dale Langley announces his passing on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was 77. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Keenan Brown as Celebrant.

 Jerry Dale was a passionate outdoorsman who found joy in activities such as fishing and hunting throughout his life. His career was dedicated to the oilfield industry, and beyond work, he delighted in playing softball, cooking for his family, and hosting get-togethers.

Jerry Dale will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those whose loved him, especially his wife of fifty-four years, Gloria Langley of Basile; his sons, Bradford James Langley and wife, Melany, and Brent Dale Langley and wife, Shelly, all of Basile; and brother, Bobby Blaine Langley and wife, Faye of Basile. The eleven joys of his life, his grandchildren, Chance Langley, Ryan Langley, Madison Langley, Haidee Chaumont, Logan Langley, Laiton Langley, Brenan Langley, Hunter Langley, Ethan Langley, Jeslyn Langley, and Easton Langley, and two great grandchildren, Elizabeth Blayke Manuel and Ella Langley; as well as extended family and dear friends.

 Preceded in death by his daughter, Rachelle Marie Langley; parents, Clyde “Buster” and Stella Manuel Langley; and sister, Loretta L. Zaunbrecher.

 At the wishes of the family, a visitation to pay respects and offer condolences will take place at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Basile on Tuesday, July 30th from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm, and again on Wednesday, 31st of July starting at 6:00 am until the time of services. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm on Tuesday.
