EUNICEIt is with great sadness and the heaviest hearts that the family of James Anthony Rozas announces his passing on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. He was 19. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Mausoleum in Chataignier with Father Conley Bertrand, Celebrant.
James was a 2009 graduate of St. Edmund Catholic High School and currently a sophomore at the Louisiana State University at Eunice where he was active in the PreProfessional Health Majors Association P.P.H.M.A.. While in high school, James was involved in various athletics as well as Literary Rally earning him awards and recognition in both. In his younger years James participated in the local chapters of Cub Scouts and Weeblos Scouts. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Chataignier Fire Department and an Alter Server for Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. James loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping and was a fourth generation cattleman at their family farm.
James leaves behind a loving and grateful family including his parents, Anthony and Lauren Fraser Rozas of the Chataignier Community his paternal grandfather, Arthur Rozas of the Chataignier Community his maternal grandmother, Margaret Fraser of Frankston, TX his brother, William Osmin Rozas of the Chataignier Community and his sister, Sara Maries Rozas of the Chataignier Community. Also mourning his loss are many other loving family members and many friends. James will be loved and remembered in our hearts forever.
James now rests in Heaven with his beloved paternal grandmother, Tessie B. Rozas and his maternal grandfather, John James Fraser.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, October 20th from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm and then again on Thursday, October 21st from 9:00 am until time of services. Deacon T.J. Richard will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Wednesday evening.
