EUNICE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Saturday, December 08, 2007 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice for James Tunnie Heinen, 79, who passed away on Thursday, December 06, 2007. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Pauls Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrant.

Mr. Heinen was a Marine Veteran of Korean War and a retired farmer and cattleman.

A Loving Father, Brother, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, Tunnie is survived by his three sons, Robert Keith Heinen and wife, Cathy of Eunice, Howard James Heinen of Eunice, Samuel Joseph Heinen and wife, Monique of Lafayette; two daughters, Joan Zaunbrecher and husband, Reggie of Eunice, Carla McElligott and husband, Bill of Lafayette, two brothers, Henry Heinen of Duralde, Louis Tookie Heinen of Eunice; two sisters, Bea Young of Mamou, Lillian Barron of Elton; thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; special friend, Dot Vasseur of Eunice and her wonderful daughters and families.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Placidus Sam and Annie Dischler Heinen; wife, Bernita Bonnie Heinen; a sister, Helen Laudry.
The family request that visiting hours be observed at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, December 07, 2007 from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, December 08, 2007 from 7:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 8:00 Friday evening.
