EUNICE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, Febuary 09, 2009 at 2:00 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice for James D. Dupre, 84, who passed away on Thursday, February 05, 2009 at Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings. Rite of Committal to follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice with Father Tom Voorhies Celebrant.
Mr. Dupre was a veteran of The United States Army during World War II. He was a salesman all his life and also the owner and operator of Dupres Sons Flooring in Eunice.
James was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose spirit of strength and support will be greatly missed be each and every one of his children. He is survived by his four sons, Henry Dupre and his wife, Joann, Charles Dupre and his wife, Liz, Joey Dupre and his wife, Jackie and Paul Dupre all of Eunice; four daughters, Angelyn Chatagnier and her husband, Kenneth of Eunice, Pauline Anderson and her husband, Jim of Lake Charles, Francine Hughes of Newark, Ohio, and Verna Mumphrey and her husband, Ray of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Marie Louise Watkins and June Lockhart both of Houston, Texas; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma Lee Dupre; his second wife, Laurie McGee Dupre; his parents, Charles and Ameila Cannon Dupre; his son, Stephen James Dupre; a daughter, Catherine Marie Dupre; and his brother, Charles H. Dupre.
The family request that visiting hours be observed on Sunday, February 08, 2009 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Monday, February 09, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Sunday evening with Deacon Chuck Ortego.
