EUNICEIt is with heavy hearts that the family of Ison Fontenot announces his passing on the morning of Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the age of 79. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Wayne Duet officiating.
Ison proudly served in the United States National Guard. He was the owner and operator of Ison Fontenot Tin Shop for over 30 years. He loved hunting, fishing and camping but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his wife of 60 years, Eva Dupre Fontenot of Eunice his two sons, Ray Fontenot and wife, Becky and Dean Fontenot and wife, Bobbie all of Eunice his daughter, Lechia Lejeune and husband, Jonathan of Eunice his two sisters, Emma Reed of Eunice and Rita Nash of Westlake. He was blessed with eight grandchildren, Landy, Coby, Dusty, Loralie and Taylor TK Fontenot, Joshua, Jacob and Jori Lejeune and six great grandchildren, Abbigail, Rylie, Emma, Tanner, Caroline and Jillian Fontenot.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clemence and Domathilda Soileau Fontenot five brothers and two sisters.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, November 19th from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Thursday, November 20th from 7:00 am until time of services. Deacon Jim Cormier will recite a Rosary at 6:30 pm on Wednesday evening.
