EUNICE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Thursday, May 07, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice for Isom J. Young, who passed at his residence in Houston on Monday, May 04, 2009 at the age of 76. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Ed Duhon officiating.

Isom was a native of Eunice and a resident of Houston, TX. He was retired from Transco and was also a Veteran of the United States Army.

He will be remembered as a kind, generous, and loving father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. Left behind to cherish his memories is his son, Isom J. Young, Jr of Spring, TX; his daughter, Cathy Green and her husband, Ted of Spring, TX; his brother, Ivan Young of Eunice; his sister, Debora Young of Georgetown, TX; his four grandchildren, Chris and Alex Young, Brandy Hernandez, and Billy Green; and his four great grandchildren. Isom will be forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be truly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Mable Godeaux Young.

The family request that visitation be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, May 06, 2009 from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Thursday, May 07, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm Wednesday evening.
