Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Tim Moffett officiating.
Isabelle, a resident of Eunice, was a member of the First Baptist Church where she participated in the church choir and taught Sunday school. She was Head Dietician at Glendale Elementary for many years and was a member of the Womens Mission Union, where she was involved with many benevolent and missionary organizations assisting the needy and less fortunate, locally and worldwide. She always felt the need to enjoy, help and comfort others. Isabelle was an avid athlete in her younger years, enjoying sports and holding a four year letterman in basketball. After graduating from Chataignier High School, she then moved to Eunice and worked at Weills Department Store, where she then met and married Clifford Fontenot. They married on October 28, 1944 and they were married for 43 years. She was a co-owner of Fontenot Cotton Gin Feed and Fertilizer Business in Eunice for many years with her husband Clifford Big Shot Fontenot. They were the owners of the last cotton gin in the area, marking the end of cotton growing in this area. They were members of many organizations dealing with farm equipment and operation, and also loved traveling extensively with family and friends. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, sewing, cooking, music, singing and entertaining friends and family. Isabelle will be remembered as one who enjoyed being with her family and friends most of all, and enjoyed life and always displayed a cheerful, positive attitude in life even until her last days as a hospital patient.
She leaves behind a legacy of family and friends who loved and will miss her. Isabelle is survived by her son, Winston Fontenot and his wife, Debbie of Ville Platte; two daughters, Anita F.
