EUNICEA wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Iola Schambaugh Fruge will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Iola passed away on Friday, November 06, 2009 at Oaklane Wellness Center in Eunice surrounded by her loved ones. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, November 09, 2009 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Gil Dutel Celebrant.

Iola known as Kat to all who knew her was a retired Dietician from Moosa Memorial Hospital in Eunice. Kats family and friends were her life. Those of us who have been blessed to have known her, loved her, and laughed with her will cherish every moment of every day that God has allowed us to share with her. She leaves behind a loving and grateful family including her three sons, Greg Fruge and his wife, Shella of Eunice, Dwight Fruge and his wife, Anna of Bayou Chicot, and Rudy Fruge and his wife, Jimmie of Lake Charles; her two brothers, Lawrence Schambaugh of Eunice and Allen Blackie Schambaugh of Kingwood, TX; a sister, Gladys Chassion of Eunice as well as her seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Now she rests in heaven with her beloved husband, Leroy Fruge; her son, Ferrel Fruge and her parents, Charles and Ozea Bergeron Schambaugh.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday, November 08, 2009 from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Monday, November 09, 2009 from 7:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Sunday evening.
