BASILE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, January 28, 2008, at 1:00 pm at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile, for Hillary John LeJeune, 85, who passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 2:30 am at Southwest LA War Vets Home in Jennings. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Ken Dominque Celebrant.
Mr. LeJeune, a resident of Basile, served in the Pacific Theater during World War II having served in the United States Marine Corpes. He was a member of the Disabled American Veteran, a member of American Legion Post 261 for 60 years, Knights of Columbus, Former Post Commander twice. He was employed on the security force at Chennault Air Base. He was also employed with the Southwest Louisiana State School as a bus driver.
A Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, Mr. LeJeune is survived by his wife, Enesia Poon LeJeune of Basile; two sons, Carl LeJeune and wife, Jeannette of Crowley, Mark LeJeune and wife, Nancy of Kaplan; five grandchildren, Gretchen LeJeune, Nicole LeJeune, Ryan LeJeune and wife, Jessica, Curry LeJeune and wife, Kayla, Mandi Ardoin and husband, Shane; six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eras and Clanie Richard LeJeune; a grandson, Kyle LeJeune; brothers, Elridge, Eulie, Milton, Harry, and Clifton LeJeune; sisters, Lucille LeJeune Darbonne and Carrie LeJeune.
The family request that visiting hours be observed at the Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Sunday, January 27, 2008 from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Monday, January 28, 2008 from 8:00 am until time of services.
