BASILEOur dad, Herbert Fontenot, passed away on Sunday, June 09, 2013 at the Jennings American Legion Hospital at the age of 79. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Darren Eldridge Celebrant.

Herbert was a retired truck driver. He had a love for French music, playing his accordion, harmonica, and gardening. Most of all, Herbert adored his children and family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will forever be loved and missed by everyone whose hearts he touched especially his daughter, Deborah F. Andrus and husband, Danny of Basile and his son, Dwayne Fontenot and wife, Canda of Phoenix, AZ along with his seven grandchildren, Nicholas Andrus and wife, Heidi, Keri A. Hart and husband, Casey, Brenton Andrus and wife, Addie, Erica F. Oliphant and husband, Chris, Brady Fontenot, Blair Fontenot and Emily F. Hansen and husband, Mike four great grandchildren, Christian Andrus, Averi Andrus, Taylen Hart and Tysen Hansen.

He now rests in Heaven with his beloved wife, Geneva L. Fontenot his parents, Marcelouse and Eula Granger Fontenot and a brother, Russell Fontenot.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Basile on Wednesday, June 12th from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Thursday, June 13th from 7:00 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Wednesday evening.
