EUNICEHe always said I want to live till I die and so he did. On January 27, 2010 he died in his sleep. He was 89. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice on Saturday, January 30, 2010. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrant.

Henry was known as Pat to all who knew him. Pat served in the United States Army Air Corp and is a veteran of World War II receiving such commendations as the American Defense Service Medal, American Theater Service MedalEurope Africa, Middle Eastern Service Medal and Victory Medal TAC. His military career began with MORSE Code training in three C which allowed him to serve his country throughout the world including a tour in Romania where he dispatched code on the Enigma Machine while living in the attic of the American Embassy. After his honorable discharge Pat continued to service his country by enlisting in the reserves where he was attached to military operations such as Allied Control Commission for Romania as well as being an official of the 10th Airborne Headquarters at Tulln Army Air Base. Pats career later took him into the Merchant Marines where he retired after many years as a Radio Officer. For the past three and a half years, he spent his week days at the Southeast Southwest War Veterans Home and his weekends he spent at home with his family.

Pat leaves behind a loving and grateful family including his five sons, David R. Baham and Daniel R. Baham both of Eunice, Michael W. Baham of Houston, Henry R. Baham, Jr. of New Orleans, and John A. Baham of Eunice his four daughters, Mary B. Lambert of Houston, Marie B. Monroe of New Orleans, Christina Tina B. Hensgens of Branch and Kay B. Pitre of Eunice, as well as his nineteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many friends. He will be deeply missed by them.

Now he rests in Heaven with his beloved wife of over 50 years, Dorothy Jaster Baham a daughter, Patricia Ann Baham a son, Leo Bernie Baham and his parents, Henry and Olene Fontenot Baham.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, January 29, 2010 from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, January 30, 2010 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Friday evening.
