IOTA It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Helen F. Sittig, 82, announces her passing on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at her residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota. Rite of Committal will follow in the St Joseph Mausoleum with Father Mikel Polson Celebrant.

Helen will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and friends, and for her outgoing personality. A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Helen will always remain in the heart of her beloved husband of 63 years, John D. Sittig of Iota son, Jude K. Sittig and wife, Debbie of Iota brother, Mervin Fontenot and wife, Sue of Basile sister, Shirley Ledoux and husband, Davis of Basile six grandchildren, Jamie Anderson, Kristian Boudreaux, Roxie Smith, Rachelle Garon, Madison and Peyton Sittig and eleven great grandchildren, Morgan Teetzel, Michael, Connor and Cameron Anderson, Demi and Isabel Boudreaux, Liz, Olivia and Trevor Smith, Gracie Domingue, and Ava Garon. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her son, Kent Sittig parents, Maxile and Zula Fontenot and brother, Maurice Fontenot.

Pallbearers for the Service will include Kevin Ledoux, Bobby Anderson, Kevin Sittig, Neal Lege, Dale Trahan and Adam Dupre. Honorary pallbearers will include Billy Boudreaux and Matt Smith.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Iota on Friday, November 25, 2011 from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, November 26, 2011 from 7:00 am until time of services. A rosary will be recited Friday evening at 6:00 pm.
