EUNICE- A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10 am Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata, for Helen Frey Andrus, 96, who passed away at 5:40 am Sunday, November 26, 2006 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice.
The Rev. Cedric Sonnier, Pastor of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice will be the Celebrant with the Rite of Committal to follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice, La.
Survivors include her three sons, Stanley Andrus and wife, Gloria of Roswell, New Mexico, Richard Dale Andrus and wife, Catherine of Lafayette, Tommy Lee Andrus and wife, Melinda of Moorhead, Mississippi; two brothers, Paul Frey of Mowata, Anthony Frey and wife, Josephine of Hollandale, Mississippi; two sisters, Bernadine Nuffie Sittig and Henrietta Etta Gotreaux of Eunice; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Son Andrus.
The family request that visitation hours be observed from 10 am until 9 pm Monday and will continue from 8 am until time of services Tuesday with a Rosary to be recited by Reginald Reggie Bollich Monday at 7 pm.
Pallbearers will be Richard Andrus, Tommy Lee Andrus, Brian Andrus, Lindsay Andrus, Kyle Andrus and Chris Catlett.
Giftbearers will be Catherine Andrus, Melinda Andrus and Emma Catlett. Lectors are Lauri Catlett and Kelsey Andrus with Debra Yogi Sittig assisting as a Eucharistic Minister. Sarah Pulling and Sammy McManus, soloist accompanied on the violin by Tommy Benoit and on the organ by Linda Lafleur.
The family wishes to thank The Professional Home Health Services personnel and personel attendants, Esther, Mary and Trina for their kindness and respect. Also great appreciation for the professional and loving care given by long time family physician, Dr. Reginald Segar and as of late, the staff at Acadian Medical Center which includes the ER personnel under Dr. McClain and the attending physicians Dr. Stearns and Dr. Murdock. Also, many thanks to the nurses and support personnel who provided constant and affectionate care to our Mother, as well as to her family.
Great appreciation also to her sitters and caregivers Pat and Paul Daigle. The family extends a thank-you also to family members and friends who made regular visits to show their love and support for our mother.
