EUNICE - Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Miller was held on Friday, June 30, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Deacon Chuck Ortego officiating.

Mrs. Miller, age 88, a resident of Eunice, died on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at 9:07 a.m. at the Savoy Medical Center in Mamou. Mrs. Miller's death was on the anniversary date of her late husband. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Miller, a daughter, Betty Emerson, and a brother, Melvin Johnson.

The visitation was held on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m., Thursday, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., and on Friday, from 8 a.m. until time of services. A rosary was prayed Thursday evening at 7 p.m.

Survivors include her daughters, Caroline Sharp and husband, Richard of Eunice, and Patricia Merikle of Armond Beach, Florida; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Ardoins Funeral Home of Eunice was in charge of arrangements.
