IOTAIt is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of a loving mother, dear sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend, Hazel Doucet Fruge on Sunday, January 09, 2011 at the Camelot Place in Crowley. She was 84 years old. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery with Father Mikel Polson Celebrant.

Hazel was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a loving and grateful family including her three daughters, Mona D. Cormier and Yvonne D. Miller and husband, Bobby all of Iota, Pam Dapogny and husband, Tom of Steamboat Springs, Colorado a very special daughter inlaw, Betty Doucet of Iota her sister, Gladys Young and husband, Joe of Vivian eleven grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Numerous nieces and nephews also mourn her.

She now rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, Curley Joseph Doucet her son, Gerald J. Doucet, Sr her parents, Felix and Margueritte Doucet her brothers, Amos, Russell, and Gaston Doucet her sister, Thelma Doucet her granddaughter, Roxane Stanford and her soninlaw Isaac Cormier, Jr.

Carrying Hazel to her final resting place will be her grandsons, Ritchey Miller, Gerald Doucet, Jr. and Perry Stanford, II her great grandsons, Dillon Launey, Keegan Romaine, Brian Miller and Trevor Floyd. Honorary Pallbearers will include her great grandsons, Colin Steen, Maddox and Coen Leonards and Trent Roy.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Iota on Tuesday, January 11th from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Wednesday, January 12th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Tuesday evening.
