Eunice~It is with deep sadness the family of Gregory “Greg” Paul Soileau announces his passing at the age of 74, on August 17, 2022 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifelong resident of Eunice, Louisiana. A Celebration of Greg’s Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice with David Guillory, officiating.
Greg graduated from Eunice High School in 1965 and attended McNeese State University for three years, where he was a member of the McNeese Rodeo Club and was introduced to bull riding. Greg was employed at Tri-Parish Electrical Supply since 1973 and became part owner/manager after the death of his beloved uncle Lee LaFleur. He became sole owner in 2020. Greg was an avid hunter, especially deer. He also enjoyed fishing, eating any kind of seafood, especially crabs and crawfish, watching old western movies and sitcoms, as well as professional bull riding. His favorite pastime was riding on the ATV in the woods with his kids and grandkids, enjoying the peaceful nature that God provides.
Greg is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Carla Wagner Soileau, of Eunice; one daughter, Shelley Soileau Savoy and husband Toby of Eunice, one son, Gregory “Stormy” Soileau, Jr. and wife Allie of Eunice; nine grandchildren: Adam, Jacob, Gracie, and Jack Savoy, Jaedyn, Karleigh, Colt, and Mila Soileau, and Mallory O’Brien, all of Eunice; his sister-in-law, Lewana W. Cooper of Eunice; and a host of cousins and friends. Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Thaddeus L. Adams and stepfather, W.R. “Shelly” Adams, from whom he inherited his beloved farmland; his father -in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Aline Wagner; brother-in-law, Ken Cooper; and nephew, Chad Cooper.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Saturday, August 20th from 9:00 am until time of services.
The family wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses, medical providers, and everyone who prayed for Greg during his battle with cancer.
