EUNICE-It is with great sadness that the family of Gloria OBrien Fontenot,73 announces her passing on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Ville Platte Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, March 03, 2009 at 2:00 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice with Father Tom Voorhies Celebrant.

Gloria will be remembered as one who enjoyed being with her family and friends most of all, and she gave generously of her time when she taught CCD classes for many years. She loved to cook, work in her yard and make floral wreaths and was a very loyal friend. A loving wife, mother, sister-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Gloria will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Hubert J. Fontenot of Eunice; three daughters, Pam F. Joubert of Eunice, Renee Fontenot of Kinder, and Annette F. Francois and her husband, Duffy of Eunice; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elton and Mazie Fontenot OBrien and a son, Dana J. Fontenot.

The family request that visiting hours be observed on Monday, March 02, 2009 from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, March 03, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Monday evening.
