EUNICEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Gilton LeJeune announces his passing on Friday, April 19, 2013 at Oaklane Wellness Rehabilitation Center in Eunice surrounded by his loved ones. He was 86. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 3:30 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Father Nathan Comeaux Celebrant.
A proud veteran, Gilton served in the United States Army in World War II as a Military Policeman and received a World War II Victory Medal Army of Occupation Medal Japan and was enlisted three times. After 50 years, he retired as an Oilfield Consultant as well as the owner of Gilton Club for 15 years. He loved going listen to Wayne Toups and the joys of his life were spending time with his family . He lives on in his family, friends, and anyone who had the grace to be touched by him especially his loving wife, Carrie Courville LeJeune of Eunice his two sons, Roger LeJeune and wife Alicia of Broussard and Phillip LeJeune of Eunice three daughters, Pamela Deville and husband, Al of Broussard, Connie Ardoin and husband, George of Mamou and Vicki Lavergne of Mamou two stepdaughters, Sandra Broussard of Lafayette and Linda Bourgeois and husband, Jonathon of Eunice. He was blessed with thirteen grandchildren and further blessed with nineteen great grandchildren. Also mourning his loss is a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He now rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Cephor and Lillian Richard LeJeune sister, Shirley Smith granddaughter, Alayiah LeJeune and his first wife, Evangeline McGee LeJeune.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday, April 21st from 10:00 am until time of services on Monday, April 22nd. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Sunday evening.
Carrying Gilton to his eternal resting place will be Kendall LeJeune, Ricky Romero, Jr., Brandon Romero, Toby Jenkins, Jody Bourgeois, and Al Deville. Alex and Alyssa Deville will be his Honary Pallbearers.
